the water level on the standpipes should be right at halfway on the T that sticks out then turns down into the water. See if this makes sense

I agree with Jason, the drain pipe is too high. My tank water level is 5" above the overflow chamber. Luna

Kriss for what its worth take the tee off the vertical and cut the vertical lower so that the top of the tee's throat is 2 inches below the overflow then you'll be fine, The Way it's set up now it will not drain.. Well maybe a little if at all. I also thinks thats the guys who started this string problem will be also its all it can be unless he has a lot of pump ? or Air locked or restricked somewhere to the sump ? And don't forget your strainers in the street ell's

When I built these stand pipes I used adjustable unions so the whole durso can be slid up and down about 4 or 5 inches so at any point in time the water level inside the OF box can be adjusted. I've got them set at that height becasue that's the quietest spot if that makes sense. There is zero splashing noise from the water coming into the OF box.

Now all of the water pouring through the wet dry is loud but it's a different kind of loud than it used to be. Before it was a gurgling noise all the time. Now it's more the sound of water falling. Kind of relaxing actually... ;D

Luna I think he meant HO in the best way possible. :pimp2:

the top of the t is well below that. I think th eproblem now maybe too much pump. However, before when i had the dart attached i could not get the water level in the tank high enough. The water level was below the level of the canopy. I thought that this was a problem with the teeth in th eoverflows being too low down. When i questions AFY i was told that the return pump was not feeding enough. I think that even after lowering the standpipes it will not change as when the water level rises it almost covers the top of the standpipe. I have attached a few pictures of the setup. I have also included a picture of my oceans-motion custom 4-way-2-way on my closed loop. This has two input feeds one from each side of the tank and two output feeds one to the left and right of the tank. Its controlled by a proximity sensors and a few electronics i put together to control the timing. water is sucked from the left side of the tank and blown into the right side (red arrows) it does this for a pre-set time (currently 10 mins). The valve is turned so that now water is sucked from the right and blown to the left (blue) arrows. I have a dart running this. Creates some pretty impressive water movement.
