Disturbing pattern on 3reef

It might be a good idea to have the bucket threads show up in a different area so they do not push the true question threads to the bottom.. This would give us 3Reef regulars a forum to have those I'm board and want to chat with folks with common interest discussion without affecting the positioning of the real questions. Just a thought.

Exactly what I am talking about (I posted on Water v. Ice also ). If I have an answer to a help post, I will offer it. If I don't have an answer I will stay silent.

I guess my feeling is that some technical threads do not get enough discussion while other more frivolous topics get annihilated. I love this site, it's just that some days are better than others on it.

 

So how many replies will this thread get. Here is another one. LOL This seems to me like another thread that will get people upset. Don't worry be happy people!

 

Hey, I'll take it! I wasn't really trying to complain that much, just trying to refocus everyone. Of course, you are right about the bristleworm thing but newbs should always be given a helping hand. Maybe sometimes the questions do start to take on a technical air that goes deeper than the cumulative knowledge of the group. I think what I am most interested in is that deep technical knowledge but that is not true of everyone--I can respect that. That is just the stuff I want to talk about and maybe I am being selfish. :-[

I feel that if somebody asks for help and there is only a few posts in that thread......the answer is in there. There is a load of people on here that know what to do and know what to suggest when there is someone that needs help with w/e they have going on. Therefore......no need for 3 pages of answers.

ALSO, I feel that there is a bunch of people that join, post an bunch of questions, get their answers and dissapear. I think that throws a lot of the longer 3Reef members on the "I'm not going to answer" side because I see that there are hundreds of threads on the same problems they are asking about but they don't SEARCH. I bet if they searched.........they would get their answers Just my opinion:

 

It is hard to put forth deep technal knowledge. I think it is easier to give answers to something that has no meaning then screwing up an answer that might impact the fait of some ones tank. That is why most of my answers are forms of it worked for me or so I hear. I too posted on the ice water thing but was trying to put rhyme to the reason( fruitless efort but the ride was fun).

 

If most people would just do a search they would find their answer but most are too lazy to read for it.
