Does any one know where I can find some planes to turn a 55 gal tank into a sump? I want to section it off , put in a filter sock, and room for my pumps / protein skimmer. I have 3200 gal of return pump , 800 gal phr pump for my chiller, phosphate reactor, octo 200 skimmer. Do I have to do this in glass or can I get away with plexiglass? It's for a 200 gal so I think it should be plenty. I'm kinda married to the 55 since I convinced my brother not to sell it and give it to me.

I think any of the sump designs would work. Just adjust the compartments size according to your tank size. If your search sumps here you'll get a ton of DIY sump designs.

I turned a 28 gallon into a sump for my 75. Really it's pretty simple and all in your hands. You just have to get a measuring tape and draw up some blueprints.
    Some things to consider:
1)how much space you need for skimmer, return, and fuge sections.
2)water level height that's good for your skimmer vs. how much clearance you have (determines baffle height between skimmer and return sections)
3)lower water level in the sump increases extra water it can take before overflowing.
    4) any areas you want for bioballs/LR

Also I used acrylic/plexiglass for my baffles, It's solid.
