DIY 72" MH Light Under $300

    Parts list: 3 M57 Ballast @$37.00 each from Fox Electric wood 23/32 roof sheathing $20.00 Home Depot reflectors $19.00 roll roof flashing Home Depot fans 2@$5.00 each Radio Shack (store closing) broken piece of paneling $3.00 Home Depot scrap bin Mogul sockets 3@3.95 pluse shipping from ebay seller frwoodworking 19580 lamps total $46.00 plus shipping ebay seller greatdel11182 L brackets 3@1.00 each Ace Hardware wire 18/2 90 feet $30.00 Home Depot white rouge buffing compound $3.00 buffing wheel $7.00.
    First thing is to tape down flashing apply rouge to wheel and start buffing until mirror like finish ( if you can buff your car you can do this ) Next cut wood to size glue refelctors on wood I used 500 degree silicone and braids.
    Next drill holes for wires, L brackets and T5 socket I used my old 36" bulbs maybe i"ll upgrade later mount sockets cut holes for fans and mount them wire up everything install bulbs and it"s showtime.

    Great job, way to go! 8)

    I love that you bought broken stuff and scrap and made it work. That is serious DIY.

    Are those fans pretty quiet?

    300.00 dollars out of pocket "SEEING YOUR FRIENDS FACE WHEN THEY JUST SPENT $1500.00 " PRICELESS! For all other things there's "DIY"!

    looks good man. I got the metal, need to polish it like that get the mirrored look. I was trying with a sander didn't quite work out.

    Car buffer with some jeweler's rouge would probably do the trick!
