alrite everyone im still a newbie here but i just recently tore down my 30 gallon and got a new JEBO 80 gallon curved front glass tank. i have to say that these tanks are really nice! they are not acrylic but 100% glass, that is curved, so you wont see any silicone on the side.

the tank is still in the box so i didnt take pics of it but the guys at
www.jebostore.com gave me a discount since they are a new online retail store. only thing was that they were not able to ship these tanks outside of their warehouse in california but luckily i lived close by =]

here is the pics of the torn down 30 gallon. it was headache!

alrite today i got too carried away with working on the stand and i ended almost completed the frame then started to take pics.. but basically i use two 2x4 to form a right angle at each corner then use a longer 2x4 inbetween the right angle of the 2x4 to hold it in place with the top and bottom frame.

this the back of the stand and you will notice there is a 1 1/2" gap.
that is for the overflow pipes.

    front:
i did not put a 2x4 in the center because i wanted to put a 40 gallon sump.
it should still be more than enough strength to hold up the 80 gallon =]

well okay today i cut 1/4" plywood for the side and used 1x4 for the top and bottom trim. i used a walnut colored stain and gave it 2 nice coats.

finished it off with some finishing nails.

i found some left over carpet from a previous project and said might as well.
the reason for the carpet is because having a lot of live rock in a tank will cause the center to have a lot of weight so the carpet will be there to support the uneven weight.

tell me what you guys think so far? any input is good! will help me design a better stand thanks.

HAHA yeah.... i decided to put the tank up and let the live rock cure while i make the door because it takes a long time to cure live rock.. i have around 70 lbs of live rock from my previous tank but i also bought new live and dry rock.

    stand is almost done!

well today i decided to paint the interior with acrylic paint because i dont want the water to deteriorate the wood. acrylic paint serves as a water repellent.

hehe forgot to mention that i gave it two coats of clear satin polyurethane. i didnt want too much gloss thus just using clear satin =]
