Ok, so I built my acrylic sump/fuge out of 0.22 inch acrylic. It's roughly 23x9x12 (LxWxH). - about 10.5 gallons. Anyways, I'm worried about a small bowing that occurs when it is filled with water (during the leak test). Should I brace the top somehow? It seems most projects I've seen don't worry about it with the smaller tanks, but I'd rather not have to come home to a disaster!

    Construction:
0.22 inch acrylic walls and base. 'glued' together with weld-on 16 (similar to weld-on 4, it fuses the acrylic together). Two chambers divided by a 0.08 inch acrylic piece.

I'll try to upload a pic when I get home. Should I be worried? It seems like a small amount of water but it would seem a lot bigger all over my floor :p

    Thanks for the help.

The .22 is bowing with only 10 gals? I have roughly 12 in my custom build and haven't noticed anything. But if you are worried about it then go ahead and put a brace across the top. If it were me I would put one in just to make myself feel better.

Yeah I'm kinda anal lol, it just barely bows... I used a straight edge to check :p --- I think I'll put the brace on like you said. Couldn't hurt to wait another day to install it.

For the brace, just weld-on another 0.22 inch straight piece across the top in the middle?

Yeah, that's what I would do.
