Ok, right now I am going to build a sump. However, I want to have some sort of autotop off system, but of course, can't afford, and I literally mean can't afford it. So, my idea was to just have a container of RO water about my sump and run airline tubing with a knot in it to slowly drip water into the sump, like when you drip acclimate. I know I add about 2-3 quarts of water a day, so I was going to 'calibrate' it by dripping the line into a container I know is that large over a 24 hour period. This will be a temorary setup, but I was wondering if this will work, or are there unforseen problems I haven't thought of. Thanks for the input.

I use kinda the same set-up. Except with an aqualifter and a valve. 1 drop every 3 seconds for about a gallon/24 hrs.

Hey, me too and have for about 7 months now... Only difference is I use IV tubing and use the valve to set the drip rate.. Works great for me... But then again I have only 5.5 gallons to worry about topping off.. LOL...

I use a Aqua lifter to a float valve on my Q-tank and it works well. I just use the valve to switch the aqua lifter one when the water level drops. Works great and it was cheap.
