    I love the major geek factor here... my simple question... how does this fit in your reef system?? Feed bacteria where? I assume a filtration purpose. How does this fit in??

    I admit it I am an aquatic geek, it is my passion to evolve my own system. I carbon dose and find it annoying that this has to be done twice a day, plus I will be going on holiday soon. This is to replace carbon dosing, it is a slow release organic carbon source in the form of starch. I shall be placing some in my zeovit filter with my zeolites. The bacteria use organic carbon as a food source and reduce nitrate and phosphate in anaerobic environments. I grow and dose my own bacteria also and am using one of my fermenters to see how quickly the bacteria break down the bioplastic.
