    Hey everyone,
I have been doing research on LED builds, but I have heard some conflicting advice on how many LED's I should use for my standard 90 gallon (48 long, 18 deep, 24 high). My tank is 95% SPS (it is young, so they are almost all 1 - 3 inch frags) with some zoas in the sandbed. It looks like reefledlights suggest 2 Phoenix 45 kits which would be 90 LED's which is almost double what rapidled had recommended. The advice that I received from rapidled was between 48-52 would be good.
My current plant was to use 64 total LED's as follows:
    12 XT-E Royal Blue x 2
    4 XP-E Blue x 2
    8 XP-G Cool Whites x 2
    4 XP-G Neutral Whites x 2
    4 Violet x 2

The LED's would be placed on a 6 x 20 heatsink with 60 degree optics at approximately 10 inches above the water.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks!

Sounds about perfect! I have about that exactly on my 55g and its plenty and its a similar footprint of a tank! I'd suggest dimmable and the plug and play version for sure! I'd also suggest the typhoon controller from boostled. Cheap and easy way to control your lights, sunrise sunset etc.

The only thing i'd consider is adding a few cyan and reds to the build to round out the colors!

+1! I wouldn't put any optics on the UV LEDs

OK, thank you both! I'll go ahead with just 64. I can always add more in the future if needed.
