i have a bottle of kent marine iodide (thats about 2 years old), can i use it to make a coral dip solution for zoas/palys ? it reads on the bottle that it will not destroy system bacteria so i dont know if it will be strong enough for a dip.
i know your suppose to use lugols but this is all i have at the moment. how many drops should i put in lets say a cup of rodi water? you use fresh water right? or do you use salt water?
i have some zoas or palys (cant tell them apart) that haven't really expanded the way they should. i thought i would try giving one a dip to see if it was some type of pest that was bothering them....

Iodide probably will not work, you want free iodine. Go to a drugstore and get a bottle of tincture of iodine. Put 10 to 20 drops in a quart of tank water. Dip for 10 minutes. Rinse in another quart of tank water then return to the tank.

All the same for our usage. Most definitely cheaper.

Normal Iodine at the drug store works great. If you use a lot of it, it can be toxic. However, I would just plan on wearing gloves and avoid contact with any open cuts.
