DBOSHIBBY, I ordered the aluminum 11.9 x 3.7 inches. If I had to order them again I would get the 15.8 x 4.7 inches. The reason is that my LEDS are only 2 inches apart. I would have liked to spread them closer to 3 inches. Also, I was limited to a height of 12 inches of the surface due to the canopy, so I don't quite get the full coverage at the edges of the tank. If I had ordered the 15.8 I would have had the coverage.

I think I may just go for these... What do you think about 20 LEDs on a 20 long about 30'' long or should I just go with the 24 LED ? The 20 LEDs are $25 cheaper. I just want some anemones, polyps, colorful corals but would like to be equipped if I decide to get SPS later

Good question, not sure. But if you want to go SPS, it wouldn't hurt to be prepared in case it's not enough, and $25 for insurance would be worth it for most people. Especially if you're getting dimmable ballasts, that'll give you control. But don't take my word for it, for all I know you need 36 or maybe even 20 would bleach them (doubt it, at least SPS). And of course these are Bridgelux LEDs and aren't as powerful as CREE.

I just ordered the 72 kit from them with 4 heat sinks and Ray said they would FedEx it, so I'm really hoping it'll be here by this weekend! I'll be starting a thread for my build because I've never done this sort of thing before and will most likely need help.

I talked to Ray, great and fast responses..but you know im still on the edge of what to do. i am between the 48 rapidled kit or the 72 kit from aqua which comes out to like 303 with heatsinks ! which is great and a lot cheaper but IM SO CONFUSED on what choice to make. As for SPS i dont want many ( not anytime soon ) or maybe none depeding on how hard it becomes to even get the basics to grow

idont want to go with aqua then have regrets on the quality

Well you can wait a few days until I get mine and follow along my build thread.

And actually I haven't had the fastest responses, usually at least 24 hours, so I'm not impressed but it's not at all like pulling teeth either. And to save ~30%, I think it's quite worth it. But we'll see once I get the goods.
