I was needing a new filter for my koi bin(stock tank), beacause I dident like doing water changes every 3 days. I only had a biowheel 350 on it before. I took a old salt bucket and put 2 fittings on it, hooked it up to a 480gph pump, and filled it with lava rock. Give it a couple weeks and I should not have to do water changes that much.

Good idea but I don't think your suppose to use brass even in FW. Could leach copper, nickel, or zinc. None are good and if it contains zinc it is very toxic to aquatic life. It's a good idea but I would change to palstic fittings.

That water in the tub looks god awful how many Koi are in there?

Just one koi. 2 other fish. The water was like that because they stired up the bottom when I put the pump in the bottom.

I redid the fittings and added expanded clay balls(hydroponics), and a strainer.
