DIY LED help with apex...

    I have a rapid LED DIY system that a friend of mine put together a year ago. I am wanting to enhance the colors and add a few more leds. The friend that built the light has moved away and I have another friend that know how to solder that is willing to help..

    Long story short, I will have to carry the light fixture to his house but not have the apex as it will be home running my system.. For testing the VS leds once we are through without the apex being present would we be able to use a 9v battery to connect to the control wires for testing purpose to make sure the lights work until I get home and plug into the apex?
