    well they are pots of light like spot light with refletors so the light is going to be consentrated in one intence spot, so the light can trable at more distans when you put led in a large heat sick with no reflextor you loose almost 50% of the light that = to more led when you put them in a spot light you are viming down and you use 80% to 100%= to lest led more light
