Diy live rock cureing

    I have quite a bit of diy live rock I want to cure but problem is nothing big enough to store it in while the ph drops I was wonder can I just put in a tank with no live stock and just fill it and do like 20% water changes every day mind you it would be fresh water im cureing it with or should I juyst cure it in containers a few pices at a time?

    I was trying to cure in basth tube but for some reason it wont hold water for more than a day or would that be a good thing

    It won't hurt to use a spare aquarium. Also, you won't want to change water every day as they won't leach that rapidly. Wait 1 week; Test pH; if it has changed, change 100% of water; repeat until pH remains stable. FYI, If these are new rocks, it may take a long time for them to fully cure.

    I have cured around 150 lbs in my tank. As long as there's not any live rock or live stock in there, you'll be fine. I changed 55 gallons fresh water every week, since that's all my sump would hold, and I didn't want to wait all the time for my DT to refill, but just as stated, if you do 100% weekly, you'll be that much better off. Just watch your PH, and when that settles, keep an eye on your ALK before you decide to put corals in. And for cryin' out loud, post some pictures so we can see what you've created!!! lol

    Ooo don't wry ill post pics of the rock I have to say its extremely porous I think due to the perlite I mixed with it
