Well, I don't have the money right now for an ATO system. Having a 29g system has reminded me of just how fast water evaporates! So I had to be topping off from a gallon jug multiple times throughout the day, Pretty annoying.

So, I looked around the house and made this.

With some airline tubing, an acclimation container and air valve.

I put the valve on the tubing, stuck that in the container and voila! Now I can fill it with whatever amount of water I want it to top off throughout the day, set the drip very slowly, and leave it to do it on it's own.
I may have to find a way to cover it to prevent the top off water from evaporating too. ::) LOL

Well, That's all folks. Ridiculously simple way to a gravity fed "Semi-auto" Top Off ( I guess that would be the more proper nomenclature::)).

If you use an air tight container and put the one end of airline in the bottom of the container and the other end where u want ur water level u will have a full gravity fed ato ;)

The valves and hose are available at places like Petco, Walmart and the LFS.

Petsmart should carry them. Petsmart is pretty much the same as Petco. Call and ask them if they have air valves or gang valves.
