Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to install one/some on my tank. I was thinking of maybe getting those garden lights that run off solar power and somehow fashion that to be aquarium friendly :) But maybe those would be a bit bright? Does anyone know of a good project that has been done before? Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks :)

K, I am making plans to make a cool moonlight myself. :) I don't really like a lot of light at night (as my tank is in my bedroom) and the solar garden lights that I was thinking of using are on the brighter side. K, they are super bright. So I was thinking last night...I have a few of those push button LED lights that you stick in your closet, and I thought those are kind of dim (sucks for closet use IMO). SO!, I tore one apart last night to see what's in it and I have some sketches of what I am going to do. The size of my little "fixture" is hopefully going to be the size of an iPhone and it will be placed on top of my main lights. There are two little LEDs and few wires. This "fixture" will run off two rechargeable AA batteries or a 3v wall plug. Maybe in the future (assuming this current plan works out) I can incorporate solar to this device. That way you can take it outside during the day while you are at work, class, etc., and when it is time to turn off the main lights at night, you can flick this bad-boy on and bam! moon lights! It will slowly die over night so you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off, running down batteries, using unnecessary electricity, etc. It should be fairly cheap too. I don't remember how much the closet-LED-push-button-thingermahjiggs are, but you should be able to get a pack of 2 for under 10 bucks. Now I just need to see if my T5 fixture is magnetic, cause if it is I can put magnets on my moon light device so I wouldn't have to weight it down, tape it, and or glue it.

I should get this done later this afternoon, so I will hopefully post pics this evening and show you the "prototype" if you will. :D
