hmm, i've never had any problem with fish jumping out with my pcs which turn of instantly, anyway speaking of DIY moonlight i just compelted one myself using http://www.kaotica.com/frag/diy/moonlight/
i know it has been posted on this site, but i recommend it highly, makes it very easy, and i'm not sure if its the moonlights but in just a week my mushrooms have grown a lot

has anyone ever just considered using standard x-mas tree lights? i noticed this year that they came out with some pretty intense dark blue kind of similar to a black light hue. these might not be LED, but they do seem to give off a good glow.. think this would work in palce of the rope lights?

the most important part is how many amps they give off, too many will agitate your fish, so if you know how many amps I'm amsumeing it would work fine

Water tight connection on the bulb to wire would not hurt any.

what store you buy them in? do they come in blue? the appear white in the picture? how much they cost?

also for those who bought the light strip from home depot.. do you have to buy a swich for them or do they come with it?
