    for the light strip, when you plug them in they turn on, no switch, so you would need a timer to control it.

    I found these blue led's on ebay i wanted to know if someone could check them out and tell me if there good because there cheap.blue leds

    3 bucks for 10 bulbs cheap compared to 5 for one at RS. Id go for it

    he also has the same bulbs on auction which are at 1 dollar but i dont feel like being patient

    those LEDs arnt bad, mine are 5000mcd, but 3000mcd will work

    right now i have ropelights on the tank, i will get a pic if you guys want me to ;)

    O, and the only problem with using the xmas lights is that they are designed to project the light around and not down, or at a specific point
    think of it as a spot light compared to a regular light bulb, they can be used, if they are UL listed for external use, and they will give you about the same look as the rope lighting
