So I am building a sump with fuge in a 20l to go under my 72 bowfront. The sump is done, see other posts, and I am now working on the overflow. I have scrapped my first one that was out of .125" white acrylic. I tried to form it and thought I may get a better fit with pieces.

    Here's the first one

So I now found some smoked .188" acrylic at the shop, I run a CNC laser so I can cut whatever fishy stuff I need. I cut all the pieces today and started assembling. I am using and acrylic bonding agent that is applied with a needle tip on a little bottle. I have to say so far this looks way better.

When I get this finished I will do a full write-up on how to do it and what size pieces you will need. It is 10x5x12 for the back and 10x3x5 for the inlet. If anyone needs my .dwg files that I drew up in Autocad I would be more than happy to send them.

    Take Care.

    Nice work

That's really cool you can use a cnc, nice work the white one had a cool look also. Will the cnc cut your holes for bulkheads to sump with it put together? You should post a link to your sump thread i would like to see it.

    Keep DIY...N,

Not sure exactly what you mean, I could have cut the holes when the part was flat but my tank is not drilled, that is why I am building this overflow. Look up reef octopus overflow, that is what I based my design off of.
