    how do you figure out what size tubing to use and how many gph it will flow??

    I have no idea; guess and test... and hope it works.

    atm my return pump is faster than the down flow. Will adding a shut-off valve on the return plumbing and closing it half way work? Is it bad for the pump? (using a mj1200)

    must every body uses it and works fine, no adverse effect to pump either
