    you want to have a ball valve on the line going into your sump to create back pressure as well...so water can flow into your fuge.

    And I don't know if this has been stated but you want 1/10th of your dt size flowing through your fuge. So for example, I have a 29G tank...and i have about 2-5GPH flowing through my fuge...

    And let me reiterate, you want to have a reverse photo period...regardless. Yes, chaeto can do 24/7 but it's very beneficial to have your lights on reverse from your dt.

    Thats exactly what I was talking about. I agree with Dr frag. about the plastic container, thats why I got rid of the rubbermaid and went with all glass. Luna

    do you think a rubbermade thicker trash container would work any better? the problem is the only way i can get a decent size is by going tall since i only have about 12" wide of space to work with.

    Where the trash can is......you could put in a 15g tall easily. I would reconsider. You would just need to drill.

    On the sand or mud question:

    I use both. It is unorthodox but it is working great.

    I have (in a 15 gallon tank) - One Gallon of mud topped with an inch or two of sand.

    Let the critics Loose. :uzi::rifle:

    15g tall is 20" long i only have 12 inches long to work with and i dont want to get rid of my megaflow2. Has anyone used a rubbermade for a few years without leakage?

    the trash bin has an 8 gallon capacity but i will only hold about 5 inches of sand, and 4- 5 gallons of water.

    You may find a bigger one if you search hard enough.

    Seek, and ye shall find. :)
