DIY skimmer questions and ideas?

the skimmer in the second link looks like a pretty cool skimmer, and not too hard to make. Was that one that you made already or just found?

im not tall enough to change the skimmate on that one. i only need one less than 30" and without a step ladder.

 

He got the main tube for $10.00 bucks. He wanted a larger diameter a 6 foot piece of 6 inch diameter tube for 10 bucks he made made due by making it tall.
