Alright guys, I built a stand and put my 40B on it, and there was a slight problem. As you see in the picture, the tanks doesn't sit perfectly on the stand, there's a small gap. Would filling up the tank just fix this problem?

    Foam, aka yoga mat, etc.

I used a thick yoga mat. Then get some trim to cover it if need be.

Mine also has a gap like that in the center. I am assuming the wood was slightly warped. I ran with it and it's fine.

Chances are the bottom trim of the tank are a level plane.

That would mean your stand's top surface is not a level plane.

I think those suggestions are a good solution.

I'm currently building a stand Coast 2 coast overflow for it, etc. Luckily, mine did sit on a level plane- I was worried about this too!

Mine was a little off too. Turned out the wood was slightly warped. I filled it anyway and its working just fine. Wish I would have thought of cork or the yoga mat though.

ye the wood itself is warped... so I should just fill it with something and go with it? where can i get cork? I'll only need an extremely small piece, and it has to be pretty thin too cause the gap isn't too big

I ran all the boards I used as the top frame thru the table saw longways, shaving a thin piece off so that all the top boards would be pretty even.
I recommend this to future stand builders.

Not sure, but I think they mean put the whole tank on the foam board or cork, not just that corner, right?

Yeah that's what I took from the comment, cover the tank footprint with either a yoga mat or cork. It sounds like a pretty good idea.

Sounds like a good idea, should I just glue the cork onto the surface of the stand? Or screw it in? Id think cork would NOT be able to handle screws in it
