Did you make a box out of glass or use a big pvc pipe or what? I was thinking of using two big pvc pipes to fit filter socks over the top of them.

How did you guys do it?

Especially interested to keep things super quiet in my design too.

    Thanks

I just used a single 1" pipe for each drain line.

Go to youtube and look up 10galreef. I have a 75 now and I used a 30 tank for my sump. Mine is pretty quiet and I don't get any micro bubbles in the tank.

No I mean how does the drain water dump into your sump at the sump? Does it go thru a filter or drip down thru live rock rubble or run down thru bio balls etc.

Ahh gotcha. My 2 main drain lines drain into a 200 micron filter sock (the 4" from BRS). The overflow pipe dumps straight into the sump.

You can buy hang on filter sock holders. Not sure if that's what your asking? Mine is a bean animal drain. The main drain goes through a 7" sock, the secondary drain goes into the fuge.

I tried the filter sock holders, but they were too long. i just run dual 1.5 drans straight over the edge of the sump with a 90 elbow. from there i cut pieces of pipe and slot them to help with noise. When I run socks, i swap out for smaller pieces and zip tie socks to the 90 elbows.
