My first DIY for our new tank.
    DT is a 20g tall
Sump will be a 20g long
Suggestions and/or critiques would be most welcome.

Are you going to be running a protein skimmer in the sump? if so you may want to make sure you have room.

For now I will have no skimmer. Plan to leave enough room for one later if needed.

If you look through the build threads you can see a lot of sump pictures where people have built/bought them to get some ideas. If you go to your LFS you can look at theirs also. My suggestion is to look a bunch to make sure you are going to build what you need and want the first time. Take a look at these. I am not sure who he is but he has a lot of good info that may be helpful

just a point of advice... i wish i had more control on my return and on my drain from the dt... so if i had to do it all over again i would use gate valves instead of ball valves
