To make it easy, and work as well or better, I use the container in a container method, modify where you want the water going, etc.

Here's my main thread on it:

Oh, and I did get the remark about the 5g buckets.

Check out my DT vid in my signature- look like a bunch of 5g buckets to you?

You can BUILD or BUY a sump- I commend anyone for that.
There are alternatives that work as well, that are easily modified, for a fraction of the cost.

Dunskies! Some pictures of the finished product after a leak test and later installed.

That's great! But, when space is at a premium and the area for the sump is a quarter of a circle, designing and building your own sump is the best way to go. I get everything I want in the space provided. It's fantastic that you could use inexpensive materials and get the same results, but it just wasn't an option for me.

Thanks! I was really worried that the cuts wouldn't be precise enough to for the bond I needed, but apparently they were close enough! I'm a little bummed that the baffles aren't keeping the micro bubbles from my NWB 110 out of the return section. They keep all the input bubbles out, just not the micros. I ordered a filter sock for the skimmer so I'll see if that helps. Otherwise I can't complain. The sump is silent except the the hum of the pumps and has increased my water volume by from 6-7 to 12-13 gallons.
