Im starting a 90 gallon tank and I want to put the largest sump I can in. Unfortunately im limited by the stand like most people. The max dimensions would be 46 long x 17 wide x 24 high. What size tank would you suggest? I bought a 40 gallon breeder which I thought would be the ideal sump until I slid it under my tank and it was about 1/2 inch to big :(. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Google aquarium tank sizes and you should be able to find the dimensions of different sized tanks, or you could build one to fit your stand.

I wouldnt try to squeeze something that big under the tank. You are going to want some room to work. if you have something that high, how are you going to clean your skimmer? What if you decide to put a reactor on your system etc. You also have to remember that just because you put a 30 gallon sump underneath doesnt mean you will have 30 gallons in it. More like 12-15 gallons. Check out these dimensions, this might help:
