diy sump with refugem

    i am planning on building a sump with a refugem in it and have a basic sketch of how i plan on setting it up although im not sure what ill use yet (either a big tupperware or small old tank. id like to hear any improvements that you guys may want to give, thoughts, opinionns, etc. keep in mind that i am a full time college student so not really on the cash flow right now so dont give big giant expensive reccomendations lol

    ...not everything is symetrical yet, havent decided exact size....just a basic idea of how i will set this up and maybe if you have something to add to the design ill look into it

    also i think im going to go with an over flow box instead of a drilled tank id like to hear input about that as well

    55 gallon, the sump is a 29....i may run both my 55 and maybe my 20 hex off of the same sump though

    I wouldn't bother with the baffles on the return side of the fuge, just run the glass a couple inches higher than the sand, and eggcrate up to the top, this way you gain more space removing the baffles.
