    bueller?

I might hop onto fingerlakes forum or RC for these questions. Those guys on fingerlakes really have it down with plywood tanks.

i will of course use 3reef for my build thread though:) And yes, I will take lots o' pics.

    Please do keep up updated!
Im in the process of planning out a 3-400 gallon build for this fall when myself and the fiance buy a house and the one thing still up in the air is DIYing the tank vs a prebuilt, I would love to see more perspective on it :)

West Marine stores might be good for epoxy and paint,I used 2 part epoxy paint on bottom of my boat made by Interlux, was easy toapply with a foam roller but make sure the rollers are for that type paint or they will disintigrate and ruin your finish. Good luck,Dave

    +1

West Marine sells great epoxy like west systems brand and such. Just be careful on which one you choose and make sure it can be used with food contact. You wouldn't want a great tank covered in something that could disturb your critters.

West systems does have a good epoxy that is reef safe, but it is the most pricey stuff as well.

I plan on using US composites as I can get 2 gallons for just over 100 dollars, and it is low VOC and safe for reefs.

I will use the sweetwater epoxy paint tinted medium blue to go over the epoxy in the tank, and there should be enough sweetwater to coat the enitre outside of the tank to keep it safe as well. They only sell gallons of that sweetwater. It is ~70 dollars a gallon and reef safe.

I will puit a thread up here as soon as I get rolling, should be Saturday:)
