DIY Terrarium!

I just went to Lowe's and decided that I wanted to build something, so I DIY'ed a terrarium

My 9 year old brother and I spent a grand total of about a half hour (And about $40 from me )

I used a piece of 1"x2"x8' for the perimeter and a .25"x2'x2' piece of plywood for the base.

I used rinsed pea gravel for the bottom substrate for drainage. I then covered it with a bag of Miracle Gro Cactus soil. I put what I believe is sandstone for decoration. The names of the succulents are on the pots that they came in. I'll check the names (and get better pictures) tomorrow.

 

Neat. Any specific plans?

 

Thanks I haven't really thought of any plans. I might be a few more succulents to fill in a little more space, but, for the most part, I'm pretty happy with what it's at right now.

 

Oops, I meant to put this under "the bucket"

I'm thinking of adding 1 or 2 more succulents. Do you know of any really nice and unusual looking ones?

Well my cat kept jumping into the terrarium : So my dad and I put it all in a 10 gallon tank that we had laying around.

Looking great buddy! If you want to try a real challenge, pick up a phalanopsis orchid. They are gorgeous when flowering. Besides coral thats the pretty much the only thing I collect. lol.
