DIY Two-Part Dosing System

Is this a good two-part dosing system to make? Aquarium Chemistry: A Homemade Two-Part Calcium And Alkalinity Additive System — Advanced Aquarist | Aquarist Magazine and Blog I'll be using Recepi #2. Just wondering if anyone's used this recepi before, and if the ratios of water to Ca., Alk., and Mg. are correct.

but I would bet on the ratios being correct due to the qualifications and experience of the person who contributed the article/ recipe

Randy Holmes Farley is certainly worth googling if you do not know who he is
and once you have read a number of his articles, and posts on other places
you will also feel confident with following his advice or recipes etc

The recipe itself has been around for quite a while and tons of people use it. The commercial product is the same recipe as BRS two part system. People have been making their own cheaper for a while. there is certainly nothing to be worried about and tons of info.

However.... Dowflake changed a couple years ago and it was going to a different process and was going to have more boron in it... don't quote me on that.. I forget the substance... but some say it is OK and some say no. BRS bought a huge huge amount of Dowflake pre change and assured it's customers it has plenty for years to come... anyway, just research using Dowflake and what is going on with it these days.
