I have been working on this for some time. I love DIY so there is a bunch to talk about.
The unfinished stand is a welded steel structure, skinned with 3/4 inch oak plywood. It will eventually have two side cabinets that will be as tall as the canopy.
Here are a couple of pics.

The sump is a 75g tank that I bought. It was a leaker I striped out the silicone and installed new. I also cut the glass baffles. From the time I started this project I changed the design of the sump. In the above pic there is a filter before the refigium. I have moved it to after the fuge and opened the pump bubble trap to 6 inches and the filter hangs there.

I have also gone from a Ocean Runner 6500 pump to a Velocity T-4 external pump for recirculation.

I have also drilled the sump for a Panworld 150ps. This pump supplies my skimmer which is a modified Geo Beckett.

Thats nice, I'm jealous of your plumbing skills! I do have a question though, it looks like the sump has quite a bit of water in it, does it have enough room for backflow water from display tank if pumps are off?

The Panworld pump was pretty loud so it was modified with a electric fan and new shroud.

    The lights are 3 DIY 400 watt MH's with 4 DIY 160 watt vho's.

The tank has been up for a year. It came down with a terrible case of HA. No mater what I did, I could not get on top of it. I wanted to make some changes so these are some of the changes.
Ocean Runner pumps. Better skimmer. I had installed a plenum that had to go so it was removed. Wanted a different substrate and change my flow. I also wanted to change the rock layout.
This is what I started with.

This is what I have now.

The rock in all of the pics is made from concrete and fiji. There is 350 lbs of concrete and 45 lbs of fiji. The sand is Southdown.

Only two power heads in the tank. They started as 2 AC 70 mods and are now 2 Koralia 4 mods. Both power heads put out a tested 3000 gph. I like the Koralias design better; they are a bit more compact. The Koralias are on 90 degree Swirler Steins.

The whole project started out from a 150g tank.
Here is the complete link with much more detail.

Sweet looking tank! You've done a great job so far. The canopy and stand and frame look great as well as the aquascaping, lighting, & fuge. Well done K+. Did you do all the work yourself?
