Every once in a while I notice an amphipod body floating through the water in the current. It appears to be more like an empty shell and it's clear. Just wondering if anyone knew if they molt as they grow?

    They do IME
    Same as any other crustacean
I also see a few empty husks from time to time
never see very small ones as I imagine they get broken down by the bacterial activity it the tank pretty quickly
but I do see ones that are approx 1cm every so often

I kinda had a feeling being that they are crustaceans.

Pretty funny to watch my fish have a go at the same husk over and over as it moves around the tank!!
