    The ocean doesn't change flow at night...the tides do change though...not sure on this one!

    24/7 here. My return makes more flow then my Korlias though.

    Fish don't need a break from the flow, ocean currents never stop.
    It is nice to have a wavemaker function though and the Evolutions are designed for that purpose. I use two of the Evo 1400's on a $95 Reefkeeper Lite so they switch back and forth every 30 seconds for a nice random flow.

    I have two 1400's set that are controlled by my APEX.

    Its great. I have each side on for 20 seconds then off for 40 seconds. They are never on at the same time. Plus this gives me 20 seconds with just the return moving water. Works Great for me.

    Youll notice in my signature that I have my 1400's listed and are always changing on and off.
