I am wanting to purchase B&W clowns as my first fish for my tank and was wondering if they have a little orange on their heads if that will evetually go away?

Also, what is the growth rate on Percula Clowns? I can't seem to find where it states how fast they usually grow.

    Thanks.:)

I believe they do lose the orange as they age, but I've never had first hand experience with them. Also I think their rate of growth depends on environment (tank size, etc.) and feedings (type of food, nutritional value, etc).

I plan on feeding daily with a mix of frozen mysis and brine, fish flakes with garlic, Zoe, and vitachem.

The tank size is 29 gallons. I just want them big and fat! lol

Just keep an eye on your parameters. You may find you need to cut back to every other day. They really don't require nearly as much food as most of us think.

Ah, alright I'll go with every other day.

After acclimation am I supposed to wait a day before attempting to feed?

You can try and feed right away, if they don't wanna eat you can just siphon out any uneaten food. If they are stressed they may not wanna eat for a few days. Mine ate right away, but others take a few days or more. Depends on the fish.

Just a question, are you going to be looking for tank raised or wild caught? or just whatever you find? Tank raised should be easier to acclimate and what not and in my opinion is a much better way to go if you can.

the juveniles do have a bit of orange on their faces... they grow out of the orange though.

you probably wont have any problems with them though, they are pretty easy :)

I am getting whatever I find but the LFS I got to has Tank Raised. Does this mean they won't go to an Anemone as easy?

Also, Dingo! Where have you been?! lol Thanks!

AFAIK it depends on their genetics. Some will always have some orange on them. If the parents were all black and white as adults you probably will end up with similar coloration when they grow up. Never any guarantees though, genetics are complicated.
If they are well fed it can take a year or two to approach their maximum size I believe, not entirely sure on that though.
