    No, they don't bury themselves. My guess would be that it's dead, or it molted and that's just his exoskeleton you see.

    I've had mine molt the day I got them. Scared me half to death. I thought I killiedthe poor thing after a few hours and I had no idea how, lol.

    everytime mine molts I think its dead. its carcus shell shows up and it looks like a full body. Then a couple of days later he appears. I recently pulled out what I thought was another molt, torn in half and hollow. Then I looked for my cleaner and couldn't find him. Today is day 5 of the cleaner being MIA. I keep hoping he turns up but I'm pretty sure the last shell wasn't a molt. Poor guy. My blenny is missing his daily back scratch.

    im not convinced there was anything in that photo that could pass as a shrimp lol
    Maybe he's behind the other rock?
