Stepho... thanks for that link... tha's very cool!!!
I ask reefkeeper.org about what type of CUC I should get for my 110g and they didn't recommend hermits... no idea why, but I gues they sometimes do go after corals..
Anybody with more experience with hermits in their reef tanks

I and many others either extremely limit my hermits in my CUC, or some simply go hermitless.

They tend to go after snails and other tuff you do want.

The Caribbean (mexican) red legged hermits seem to be the best at not killing snails and simply doing their jobs, but I still only have only maybe a dozen of those in my 200. I also have 1 scarlet reef hermit. Those are good to have but I would limit it to 1 per 50g of the scarlets.

I am a firm believer in NO blue legged hermits, as those are snail killers.

IME, a good mix of snails does a better job than hermits.

pelado, is that your ducati? looks to be an 1198/1098, no? I ride a TL1000s personally.

I have had hermits in my tank since the beginning. Been almost a year and they have not bothered anything. My blue legs haven't even killed any of my snails. I do keep a lot of empty shells in the tank so maybe this is why they leave my snails alone. They will climb on my zoas and pick threw anything they find, but they never hurt the zoas.
