    do:
    -go slow
    -research
    -ask questions
    -set up a "fish fund"

    dont:
    -buy things that you have no idea what they are just cus its pretty or cheap
    -buy livestock too quickly
    -assume because its working for someone elses tank that it'll work for yours
    -let young children play with your mag float.
    -let your wife know exactly how expencive this hobby is

    You're still looking for those damn olives? I could have sent you a jar by now.LOL

    And to the OP,just follow all above advice and never hesitate to ask a question,don't forget,even the most advanced reefers on here were noobs at one time too and there is usually always someone around more than willing to help.

    So true...I just went back and looked at some of my first post...dang...I recommend that to all....
    ...and I am being facetious in regards to olives...I have a separate refrigerator. LOL ; ) ...some things I take VERY serious. :p

    I do that often myself,i was already into reefing before joining 3reef,but never realized how much I still needed to learn and it still never stops.But I look at helping someone when I can is a little payback for those that helped me.;)

    And since I am a vodka kinda guy,the olives are always within reach (i'm partial to the blue cheese stuffed ones myself,lol)
