I am currently running a coralife aqualight high output t5 fixture 2 bulb. 1 actinic, 1 daylight 10,000k lights. I set up my aquascape to have corals mostly on the top of my tank. (as you can see in the picture) Am I good to go for some sps coral?

I'd think you could get away with a couple species, a monti cap or something like that... Honestly i am just getting into the SPS world myself so others will be able to help more. I have a monti cap that was growing under 2 VHO bulbs... Recently just switched to LED so... we shall see.

How established is your tank? What do oyu dose for ca and alk, and do you have a current ca and alk reading?

    Yes, the light is enough.

You have plenty of light to sustain SPS.

I would start with easier, hardier ones first, like monti caps, for example. They are inexpensive, and come in a large variety of colors, purple, green, and orange being the most common. I would place it toward the top of your aquascape in moderate flow.

On a side note, you may need an additional powerhead depending on how much flow you have in the tank. That looks like a Koralia 425? Whatever you do, you will want random water movement (no direct flow on corals) with no dead spots.

I'm keeping 2 types of Montis in my tank with a 2 bulb fixture and they're about halfway up the tank. Are there any other SPS corals that would work for KDtrey5 and I?

I am 2 months into it. This pic was taken 1 month ago. Once I get my nitrates at 0 I will be looking to get another frag. I currently have a colony of zoanthids by the sandbed and they are doing perfect. What do you guys think? What is the cheapest way to dose for calcium and stuff like that. I am using regular instant ocean salt right now but will be switching to red sea coral pro salt once it runs out in a week or 2.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If you are doing monthly or bi-monthly routine water changes you will not need to dose for many months.

Once you get some significant Coralline algae growth that is when I would consider thinking about dosing.

With no stony corals or clams you should be good for sometime without worrying about dosing.

Oh wait one more question! Do I have to worry about corals growing out of my water? My rocks are pretty high.
