Keep track of all your livestock--I don't know what you have, but as long as you know nothing's died, let your tank cycle and don't change your water until your ammonia and nitrites have become undetectable--just like Mission6 said.

Wait it out. If you keep changing your water, your ammonia will never subside. :)

Yeah.....big time. You have a great amount. For a reef tank the amount to have io 1.5 to 2 pounds per gallon. You are right on track. I have 120lbs in my 75g and am going to add more base rock here soon.

was your live rock completely cured when you put it in...also maybe check your test kits, those things are known to be bad all the time. What are your nitrate and nitrite levels? I would say if those are zero but ammonia is still up then you might want to consider having LFS test your water to make sure your test kits are ok.

you have six turbo snails? you mean the big mexican ones?
my LFS told me to watch it on having a bunch of those in a small tank because they eat SO much (I only have one of this type of snail and he eats more than the others do combined) and if they run out of enough algae they'll die. Also, not all snails eat all types of algae, so even if you think you have plenty for them, it really depends on if that's something that particular type of snail likes. my LFS recommended having a couple of snails of several types if you're trying to get them to eat most of the algae for you.

Hey, there is something I did notice about your setup the second time around. You are running with too little flow IMO. 185GPH for the fluval, and 480GPH for the K-nanos. I would add two Koralia-1s to the mix and get the turnover rate increased. Right now, you are at 22x. With the two K-1s, you would be at 48x. Just a thought. And with four koralias, your dead spots would be all but taken care of.

Have you changed any media in your canister filter. I've never run one before, but have heard they can be a nuissance sometimes.

This was exactly what the problem was BTW. Stupid test kit! Tried two others and my ammonia is fine. Res Sea Test Kit FTL

It's good to know the problem is solved. What test kit are you using now?

It also sounds like you need to look into getting yourself a new lifeform. Little fishies are always fun to watch :D Or are you still cycling?

Keep up the good work! I really like your rock work you have going.
