Originally I was going to put in a center brace in order to help with the finishing work (molding, doors etc.) But I just realized my sump tank wont fit in through the side so I have to put it in through the front. So now the question is do I NEED a center brace. The span is 48" and it will be supporting a 90 gallon tank?
    Please Help !!

Yes, you will want a center brace. Just screw it in place so you can remove it when you need to. You might need to to jack the the top support to get the brace back in place.

you could use a 2x2 for the center brace if you wanted to take up lees space and still have solid support all around...looks like a very well made stand for sure---good job

I disagree, with the design you used, you do not need one. You used the inner 2x4's on the corners as screw strips correct? I used the same plan for my stand. All the weight load is distributed on the corners, and a single 2x4 will hold a vertical load of over 1,000lbs. once it is skinned it will help keep it more stable.
