do I need a reflector?

    I have those t12 vho fluorescent bulbs and I was wondering if i should have a reflector in my hood? If I do what could I used I am pretty good at DIY.

    A reflector would give you more usable light in the tank, but its not the end of the world if you don't have one. some paint the inside of the hood white to help out. maybe a piece of that solar lighting tubing??

    A reflector would be better. You could use the shiny side of aluminum foil. Or some mylar.

    IMO, your wasting a lot of light by not having a reflector. I would definitely figure something out or buy one. Even if you bend some aluminum or something like that.

    I thought VHO had internal reflectors?

    Some do have internal reflectors, but not all.
