I would definitely use your skimmer. It will remove pollutants from the water that you would otherwise not even know are there. Your corals don't like dirty water, they just like occasional feeding. But once the feeding is done, any leftover food decomposes in the water and becomes toxic to your corals and fish if not removed - by the skimmer, or by water changes. So I'd definitely get the skimmer hooked back up again.

ok cool, but like i said the skimmer that i had. i had it running for 3 weeks straight and it barely pickd up anything. So i was wondering about it since it was a crapy skimmer if there was a point reeally also

well its not an overly high bioload in a 29

how often do you feed? and what do you feed?
do you do water changes and if so how much and how often?
what filtration system do you have?

skimmer do take a lot of burden from the bio logical filter system by removing things )protiens) before they break down and affect your water quality

in addition they are great for helping to oxygenate your tank
so as you have the Seaclone skimmer - which IMO is reasonable for a 29

you might as well run it

its true that soft corals in general do better in water with low nutrient levels than they would in water with zero nutrient levels
but the benefits of the skimmer out weigh the disadvantages IMO

ok i sssee what ur saying, i used to feed once a day but now every other day. i have 2 xenia which are getting bigger. I do a 3g water change every 2 weeks, and i clean my filter every week, i have a filter made for a 75g tank, its the best mechanical filter. i have 2 powerheads, 65 actinics, 65 coral life 10,000k, 2 percs, 2 hermits, one goby if i sell the skimmer today and im going to get 3 or 4 more small fish later on
