I recently set-up an aquastyle LED kit (loving it btw) but I am having trouble with adjusting it for moonlighting at night. The lowest setting for just the blues seems like too much light for the night time.

This is likely a really silly question but can I just turn all the lights off at night (total darkness) or do I need to have atleast a little bit of moonlight? I can retrofit some diy moonlights but it will be awhile before it happens.

you do not need moonlights at all, alot of people say that moonlights let corals know its night or some crap like that but they are useless besides for looking at the tank at night.

they are cool when you want to look at your corals every once and a while.. But in my experience when having them on my corals wont open up for night time feeding.

i have a diamond goby that jumps if he has no light at all, its like he is scared of ghosts or something. probably loses orientation in total darkness. ever since i put blue leds he sleeps a well. i guess try it and if you have a net or a cover should not be much of a problem.
