    Its all up to your taste to be honest. Theres no real correct amount! You might want to get a hydor korialla 1 in there, not expensive and would be perfect for your size tank and give awsome flow.

    should i get a different powerhead. I was reading another post and some peeps were saying the Korialla 1 is weak?????

    Its weak going into a tank such as a 55, your tank is not very big and would be a perfect fit for the korailli 1 IMO.

    ...also, keep in mind that the rock is also a bio filter...sooooo, more is better?
    could be...but again...can't fill the hole dam thang up with rock..so as OP1 stated..it IS a personal preferance.

    I put the "Nano" Koralia in my 14 gal. Biocube and it is perfect. A tank 14-30 gal. would require a #1 or even #2 depending on the placement.
