do i need to feed a cleaner shrimp

    i just got a cleaner shrimp from a friend and im wandering do i need to feed it and if so what

    they will scavenge for food when you feed your fish. also doesnt hurt to have some wafers to give them every now and then. theyre pretty self sufficient with what you feed.

    Mine hangs out under my Fungia's rock during feeding time and grabs food from him. Its never had a hard time getting something to eat during dinner tiem.

    I always fed mine and by hand too. Everytime I placed my hands in the tank with a frozen cube, he would swim up and eat straight from my hand. Sometimes when I didnt have any food, he would still come to my hand and start picking off all the dead cells, esp. if I had a cut.

    Mine cleans my hand too and sometimes isnt that gentle about it.

    Mine takes a ride on my hand when I'm scraping glass. And they do eat whatever is being offered to my fish. No special food needed. But if it's the only thing in your tank, yes, you should feed it. ;D
