    hey peoples,

as some may know im currently bleaching my rock and while im doing that adding a DSB. bleaching the rock because it has been problematic from day one and i want to start clean. ive done a 50% water change and am skimming wet and pulling out brown and green skimate. well i skimmed off the top layer of my sand and poof. green water... QUESTION.. is the sand still good or when i lay the new sand will everything under be o.k. or will i risk further algae problems from the old sand?

I'd not use a DSB in a new system , as for the sand that also can be washed and bleached just rinse it well . I have used many a ton of old sand after a bleaching and rinsing , if the sand had been used in a DSB its nasty for sure.
