These are pictures of the Bubble Tip Anemone that my bf and I purchased about a month ago. When we first got them, their 'arms?' bubbled up like normal, but now they don't get as fat anymore. The arms stay these long thing strands like in these pictures.

Does this mean that my BTA's are unhealthy, or is it something else?
We have tested the water once a month for almost two years and everything has been perfect.
This is a 29 gallon tank. Is something wrong?
    Thanks for any feedback! :)

    Welcome to 3reef. :)

What lighting are the anemones under (type)?

    Are you feeding them anything?

I hope this makes sense... We have two different bulbs... daylight and 8,000k...

We have a biocube, we were using the standard bulbs that came with them, but the guy at our fish store said to get the blue bulb as our corals and anemone would do better with them.

I feed them frozen brine shrimp.

It looks okay...But the mouth looks a little open..Normally the mouth should be tightly closed, but if its open and deflated, it means its expelling waist(Which is a good thing :D)

And also, the stock bulbs for the biocube the definitly not strong enough for an anemone..I would take it back to the LFS.

Just asking.. Could they be a little close together and possibly stinging each other causing them to not want to fully extend out?

    Zoanthids,

We did get a different bulb... I don't know if it is the right one.
It just expelled waste this morning and has only been inflated for about 3 hours today.

Can you recommend a bulb that I should look for specifically?

If you have not replaced the bulbs lately, within the last 6-9 months, I would. Upgrading the lighting is an excellent idea when you get ready.

I would offer the the anemones small 1/4 inch pieces of chopped raw sea food, like shrimp, clams, fish about once a week to once every 2 weeks. Brine is like snickers, it really has little nutritional value, empty calories.

    Kreator,

I wondered about that. Originally we held one of them close to a rick until he grabbed on. He only stayed there for about 3 hours. Then he let go, floated over to the other anemone and attached to the rock there. I didn't want to stress it out so I left them side by side. The larger of the two (on the left in the pictures) has slowly moved away from the other one, but hasn't moved far enough away that they are not touching.

Should I try to move one back to the other side of the tank?

    Corailline,

Okay, the bulbs were replaced about a month ago, so I think we are okay there. :)

Raw seafood... is there a specific place I should get the seafood? Or is there seafood at my local fish store?
