like everyone else says, find out whats causing the red slime. For me I battled in for nearly 4 months but finally won, i used the red slime remover 3x and it would kill the red slime but it would come back with a vengence, i found out it was my phosphates and not enough filtration (live rock). now my tank is running strong (knock on wood) and no slime just some crazy dark red coraline growing all over my tank, i want the purple stuff :(

Very interesting article Unclejed. I didn't know that cyano actually feeds itself and leads to it's increase. Per the request of others, I have an Aquatic Life skimmer that is pulling out a lot of stuff. I empty it maybe twice a week and it's a dark green color. All my params are great, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate/PO4 all zero, dKh is 9, Calc is 420. Main lights are on 7 hours a day with actinics on for 9, 1 hour before and 1 hour after. I have close to a 1000gph of flow between my two Koralias and return pump and I have a 29 gal Biocube.

It removes red slime pretty well, but if you don't fix the cause the red slime will reappear.

This is what I'm trying to figure out, what's causing the cyano? I only have two clowns so the bioload isn't large or anything. I feed flake once in the morning and then frozen in the evening. I only feed what they eat so there usually isn't hardly any leftovers. What there is leftover the shrimps take care of as well as my cuc.

What type of water are you using, tap or Ro/Di?

That's a possibility, you get some from adding new equipment right? Just a couple of weeks ago I added the skimmer, a Koralia 1, and a new pump. Maybe all the new plastic is contributing to it.

I am having the same red slime problem. Started in all 3 tanks within a few days of each other. I had a feeling it had something to do with the RO water..How do I test for the silicate levels and if that is it, how do I correct it?
